Pair of Model FD 137 Japan Chairs designed by Finn Juhl, Denmark- The “Japan” Chair was designed by Finn Juhl in 1953 for France and Son. This pair, in teak and marked ( by maker France and Son & Importer John Stuart) , with what may be the original upholstery, is in very good vintage condition with only minor nicks to the wood and some degradation of the seat filling with no effect on the chairs structurally. They feature a floating seat and back supported by brass spacers inspired by the Tori Gate in Miyajima off the coast of Hiroshima, Japan.
